This topic came up during a recent farm tour as to where wire hoops can be purchased…well, you can easily make your own hoops from a coil of heavy guage fence wire sometimes also called brace wire. Take however many loops of the coil that you think you need and seize the individual wires of the coil at a point on the circumference in order to cut all circles with either a hack saw or a cutoff wheel on a grinder. Since the loop is about 2.5 ft in diameter, one cut will give you a length of wire hoop about 6 or 7 feet long. Make two cuts and you get wires that are about 3 ft long for hoops, very simple and cheap. Make as many as you need on the go. Use the wire for fencing if you change your mind.
