A young friend of mine would like to try growing loofah gourds so she can include the sponges with her handmade soaps. I offered to inquire about sourcing a handful of seeds… she’d like to try just 6-8 plants next season. She’s would be growing in the St. Mary’s area.

Good luck to your friend! I tried growing some this year (in the NWT) and they didn’t form fruit in time but still made beautiful vines.
